Out of Town Finds

Yesterday we headed to Pueblo, CO to watch my little sister play in her district basketball tournament.  When we go out of town we always try to find thrift stores and antique stores.  It is amazing how many different things we see in different places.  I got this Westinghouse fan for $5! What a steal.

I wanted to share some things we bought.  I really didn't need a new kitchen table but when I saw this one I really wanted it.  The legs were just beautiful and the sides lift up to make it a larger table.  So I showed the hubby and he surprised me and bought it.  How sweet!

We also found a few smaller items, some will go into our shop and others we are keeping.
Here are just a few of them!

An old pee bucket!  In great shape. :)
Look at the chippy paint! So lovely.

Client Dresser Before & After

I had a dresser to redo for a client.  She wanted it matched to a piece of furniture from the Land of Nod.  I just love the fact that you can take a sample to a paint store and they match it exactly! We sanded it down, put a couple coats of primer, 3 coats of white, a little distressing and a layer of Minwax Finishing Wax.  I seriously love that stuff.  :)

Sorry for the pictures, hubby took them.  He isn't a photographer but he does try and I couldn't do all of this without him!

ENJOY!
HAPPY FRIDAY!

Thrift Store Finds

Today has already started out crazy for me, it was a day that I just needed it to be Saturday.  It made me think of  "It maybe a crazy life but it's our life" from Jon & Kate.  Our house always seems to be chaotic in the morning.  Anyways with the little time I had I loaded some pictures before I headed to work so I could get them posted.  Well of course not everything loaded so I only have a few of the ones I wanted but better than nothing.

On Monday I needed a thrift fix!  I saw this poor little floor lamp that was screaming for help.  I was actually kind of embarrassed to put it in my cart.  Everyone kept looking at me, I am sure they were wondering where is this lady going to put this lamp.  However I knew she could be beautiful so I grabbed her and hopefully I will get it started and finished soon to show you some after pictures!
Before you ask;  the lamp shade and I parted ways. :)

I also picked up this angel/cherub.  It was gold and needed to be freshened up.  So I sprayed her white and distressed it a bit to let a little bit of gold sneak through.

On Sunday grandma and I went to our two stores to add and clean up and then we also had to hit the thrift store, we picked up this wicker lamp.  It is kind of different but I thought I would spray it white.  I think it turned out good.  It's on its way to Geri's so hopefully someone thinks it is cool and buys it!  I really love the lamp shade though.  I have a lamp shade stripped down to the bones in my home, I feel like it really makes a statement.

ENJOY & HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

Feeling a Little Tired

So the last few days I have just been in a funk, a little bit uninspired.  I am trying to get some things finished to share, getting a dresser finished for a client, trying to spend some time with the family and I am exhausted.  I knom I am not being a very good blogger, but I think we are all allowed our days!  Tomorrow will be better and I will bring you a few small things I have been working on.
I am feeling a little like this guy!
ENJOY YOUR DAY!

The Big Reveal- Antique White Scalloped Hutch

Finally the hutch is all done, here is the before.  There are so many great details on this piece, the scalloped edges are my favorite.   I just love the after, it looks so chic!

I started working on this a few weeks ago but we ran out of room in our space so I decided I would wait until something sold.  Yesterday I got a call from Geri's telling me the table and 6 chairs had sold.  Woohoo!  Then I thought to myself I guess I need to get something big finished.  I am going to tell you a secret I procrastinate, I work much better under pressure!

I had most of the hutch done but I still had the doors and the hardware left and some of the distressing left.  The doors gave me major problems but I got it all done and got it all moved into the space today.

Let me know what you think!

Signs Make Me Happy

So I really love signs and I love making them.  We recently purchased a router and my husband is having some fun with it.  I like how the router bits give character to a basic piece of wood.  I am going to be putting some signs up in my Etsy shop and they are currently available at my 2 shops.  Do you love signs in every room like I do?  Enjoy!

New Vendor Space

We got all moved into our space Sunday morning and we are so excited for the great opportunity.  We moved into a store called Geri's Antiques & Interiors in Lafayette, CO.  We have been going to this shop for years.  Every time we wanted to rent space their they were always full, but we finally got our chance!  Here are some pictures of our furniture in their new homes.  Hopefully it won't be their home for long!  We are still in the process of adding some things, our wall is a little bare but it won't be that way for long.  I am moving in my hutch later this week and making a few more signs.  Let me know what you think.

The table & 6 chairs were refinished by my grandma, she put a lot of time into this piece.  I think it turned out great!

This dresser was painted white and the drawers were painted in antique white, giving it some contrast.  My grandmother gets the credit for this beauty!

Coffee Sack Chair

Well I finally finished my chair and I think it came out awesome!  Here is the before, what a difference a little paint can do.  I almost kept it for myself but it made its way to our new shop.  I painted in antique white and then distressed it and covered the seat with a coffee sack.   I applied Minwax Finishing Paste for extra protection and let me tell you I LOVE THAT STUFF.  Enjoy!

Before Pics & Frigid Temps

I wanted to share a few before pictures of some things that I am working on for our new space, I had Wednesday and Thursday off because of the low temps in Colorado!  I have been getting a lot accomplished, I even rearranged my family room! I should have these pieces done tomorrow and I am so excited to share the afters with you.  However when we went to sleep last night this was our weather forecast.  BRRR!
