Recent Junkin Finds

When I was younger I was so embarrassed when my mom and grandma would go to garage sales.  I would tell them that I would never be like them.  10 years later I get so excited for garage sales and I am eating my words.  My mom would always leave the house yelling I am going JUNKIN, and now that word just thrills me!

I was home at my parents this last weekend for my sisters senior prom.  There were a few garage sales so of course my mom and I stopped by.  I found some really cool things!  I got an old street sign from my hometown which is going somewhere in my backyard, a primitive newspaper basket stand, a couple of large frames and a couple of buckets.  I was scouring Craigslist Wednesday and noticed a dresser for an awesome price.  I emailed and it ended up being a girl that I had bought a hutch from almost a year ago.   Her and I talk every so often, she also loves bringing new life to tired worn pieces.   She is getting ready to have a baby and was getting rid of a few things that she didn't have time to finish.  She also had these awesome chairs.  Aren't they great?!?!? Thanks so much Heather! :)  I am going to put a cute cushion on them and use them at my kitchen table.

Do you use the phrase Gone Junkin?

Aren't these the perfect patio pillows or even just scattered here in there in the home?  You know Willow Creek we love love coffee sacks.  Sometimes I now we go to the extreme but they are so simple, stylish and a tad bit classy for us shabby chicsters!  :) Coffee sacks have gorgeous graphics that just get us very excited

Client Hutch Refinish

Last week I came down with a horrible cold but somehow managed to finish a hutch for a client and she was very happy with the results.  I always forget to get a before picture of things but I did take one of the inside so you could see how dark the piece was before

Repurposed Bunk Bed Ladder

I found this ladder at Habitat for Humanity.  It was originally for a bunk bed and stained a dark walnut color.  I thought it would be much better painted white, of course!  It is at one of my spaces ready to be used in someones living room.  I think it would be cute in a bathroom as a towel rack too.

Enjoy!  Happy Sunday!
