Sugar Plum Bazaar

A few weeks ago we submitted our application for Sugar Plum Bazaar.  These last few weeks have been nerve wracking for sure!  There were over 70 applications and they could only take about 35 vendors.  I was relieved on Friday to get our acceptance letter!  If you are in the Denver Metro Area definitely mark your calendars.  The winter market in November was their 1st market and we heard from several vendors it was a huge success.  We are very thrilled to kick off the 2012 market season with Sugar Plum!

Bird Cage Stand Repurposed

I bought this bird cage stand at an auction and we needed a tall light in our family room and I remembered that this was tucked in the basement. I bought a drum shade and a light kit and bam I made my own!  I love the rust & patina on this.  I plan on making a burlap tube to hide the cord but I think it is pretty darn cute.  What do you think?

What do you have planned this weekend? I am off to Photoshop class.  :)  Have a wonderful Saturday.

Lemon Filled Hearts

When we have the time we love to cook, bake and/or grill.   I guess that means we LOVE to eat. :) My little boy and I saw these on pinterest and he had to have these ASAP!  So grandma & Baylor baked them today.  If ya didn't know, my hip grandma lives with us and takes care of our little guy.  She is also my business partner and a huge blessing to our family!  Don't these look delicious?  Well they were because they are all gone!
Use your favorite pie crust, fill with your favorite filling and bake.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy.
YUMMY!

New XO Brass Stencils Turned Chic

I have been wanting some vintage letter stencils for a while now. However, they seemed impossible to find or there was always the letters I didn't want.  So the other day I found these and I grabbed every letter possible.  Since they weren't old :( I of course had to make them that way!  I painted them white and roughed them up to show the brass tones underneath and put a burlap ribbon on them.  I grabbed the XO to do last night.  They are a perfect decoration for weddings, valentines or a master bedroom.  They will be up for grabs in our shop this weekend!

We are excited to be adding new topics to our blog!  :) We will still be adding our furniture/decor but we want everyone to know who we really are and what else we love to do.  Hope you will stick around.

Shabby Chic Lace Pillow

Okay this is the last pillow I will post for the rest of the week.  :) Since we live in Colorado it is hard to find the motivation in the winter time to work in our freezing garage so we make pillows.  However, the weather man stated it is going to be in the 50s this weekend.  YIPPEE!  We have a garage full of new things to refinish and I cannot wait to start sharing them with you.Anyways how cute is this pillow.
It was once a burlap coffee sack and we added an off white burlap heart and a beautiful ruffle.  Adorned with vintage lace and pink pearls. Pillow ticking in the back with a small heart.  Guaranteed to be beautiful anywhere! I just love the different layers & textures.

Resolutions to Help Conquer Our Dreams.

This year I have a few resolutions/goals.  First resolution is stop procrastinating.  Look up the word procrastinate and see our picture.  It can cause craziness and we are tired of being crazy!  :)  Another resolution is learning something new.  Last year I took a photography class which helped me learn my new Canon 7D in manual mode and let me tell you what a huge difference it has made on my photos.  However my editing stinks.  I have signed up for a class this month to understand the ins and outs of Photoshop.

Everything you see on the blog that is sewn is from my grandmother my business partner, she can sew like no other.  She has made my prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses and my beautiful wedding dress that fit like a glove!  I really want to learn to sew something other than a straight line, oh and first I should learn to cut a straight line.

A big goal is to get Willow Creeks name out there and really focus on the blog.  This year we are going to give something fresh & new to our customers.  In these economic times you really have to stand out.  YOU MUST BE DIFFERENT!  We have started to brainstorm ideas to step it up a notch and I can't wait to show ya what is in store.  Hope you come along for the ride!

What are some of your resolutions/goals?

Hello 2012

I just can't believe 2011 is gone, the years seem to go so quickly the older I get.  I cannot grasp that it is already January.  I absolutely love Christmas time and I wish it lasted just a little longer.  By the time I sit down to enjoy the holiday it is over!  However, it is time to move on and we are starting to fill our shop with red & pink.  Isn't this pillow just so darn cute.  Perfect gift for Valentine's Day! Available in our Etsy Shop.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and I look forward to spending more time with ya this year!  Willow Creek has a lot up their sleeve, we look forward to sharing soon.

HAPPY 2012!
