We see these floating around blogland and pinterest all the time.  So we decided to add some fraying and a casing out of a patterned fabric to make them different from what we normally see.  My grandma is shhh.... a major perfectionist.  Everything has to be just right or she will start all over on a project. I think it took all night trying to get these just right! :) 

We stenciled LOVE and a couple of designs on the bottom and then added the rosette.  I think it is pretty darn cute.

We Were Featured

On Friday when we found out that Classy Clutter was featuring us, we were absolutely thrilled.  We had been mentioned on a few blogs but never had anything featured.  So this was big time to us.  We just want to say a huge thank you to Classy Clutter for featuring Lil Miss Detail. You are my Sunshine

It sure does seem that we paint anything but dressers!  They are our top sellers so we buy and refinish a lot of them.  Guess what???  I didn't get a picture of this dresser before the makeover.  I know, weird!!  But I found an email from my "picker" friend who bought this one for us.  This is what she looked like before.  So beat up with scratches and peeling veneer.  She needed some major Tender Loving Care! 

  

Well she got a bath, sanding and a fresh coat of sunshine.  She looks so refreshed & would bring cheer to any room.  She didn't sell but I am sure she won't be with us for much longer!

 Isn't it amazing what a little elbow grease and paint can do to give a piece?

What are you working on this week? 

I still have a bedroom makeover going on and we also have 3 custom pieces in our workshop aka "our garage."  Can't wait to show ya towards the end of the week!

 

Meet Patina

We love anything with patina on it, so refinishing a dresser with that look was fitting!  We took a piece of pipe for a color match that had a gorgeous aqua patina color to it.  Needless to say the paint department looked at my grandma and I like we were crazy! But we got our color match. :)

This dresser was in sad sad shape.  Part of the leg was broken but we managed to get it repaired and you couldn't even tell where it was fixed. Sorry I have no before pictures of this beauty, oh grandma went crazy on a few pieces and started sanding and painting pieces them before I could snap some shots. I learned my lesson to get pictures when we get them!   

We almost priced this dresser 3 times higher just so it wouldn't sell but we didn't.  :)  It sold within the first hour of the market.  We love when pieces go quickly, we could have sold this one 10 times.  It was nice to see Patina go home with Lil Miss Detail.  We can't wait to do something like this again.  This is by far our favorite dresser we have refinished!
