We were out thrifting a few weeks ago and saw this poor light that was just so darn ugly! When I put it up on the check stand to pay, the lady looked at me like I was, well insane. She was probably thinking in her head I wonder what this lady's house looks like. Hahahaha. It was put in our storage area with some other lights that are waiting for their chance to shine! ;) Today I went on a bit of a rampage organizing and cleaning our office. This space was so cluttered, dark and very unwelcoming and it wasn't a used space. We needed a light but didn't want to have to hassle with electrical work. That's when I remembered the ugly covered shade.

I first cut all the material off, scraped all the hot glue off and spray painted it in aluminum, it was white and stood out like a sore thumb. After it dried I wrapped some good ole chicken wire around it and had the hubs drill some holes for hooks and viola, we have a light that I love! I know for a fact that I will be using this office/craft room a lot more. I am going to post more pictures of the new organized office/craft room when my paperwork that is sitting on the floor gets filed in our new filing cabinets.
Reason number 999 on why to not buy a new home and to find one that we all pin on Pinterest! Builders don't put lights in, they put switches to an outlet. Which makes a ton of sense, I bet 100% of people use lights. :) Oh well I guess if they had put a light here this beauty wouldn't be hanging. I am so happy with this room!
Hope you all have a wonderful week!
