Old White Antique Secretary

Last summer grandma and I went to a garage sale and we saw a antique secretary that had good bones and just needed some TLC. The guy who was selling it was so ready to get rid of it, he gave me a great deal! I left it in my garage for a month but then decided to get it painted and get it into our house to replace a smaller secretary I had.
I painted it with Annie Sloan Old White and painted the inside in country grey for a little bit of contrast.  Aren't the doors on this piece so pretty?  I love them!  I also added the scroll to the drop down which I think adds so much to this piece!
We are finally getting back into creative mode so you will be hearing lots more from me!

  1. Looks great. I have one of these too that I painted white! Seems to be the trend.

  2. My sister has that same secretary, and it's days of hulking darkly in the corner are numbered. The white paint lets all of the details shine!

  7. We inherited a similar piece from my mother-in-law before I was addicted to Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. We sold it to a friend. Now there are so many pieces I wish we had kept.

I like your idea of the inside being slightly darker. It gives me an idea for a cabinet I have.
